[Tutorial] IRC

if you want to chat with other players on server/your guildies, or you need GM help, you should get IRC

more about IRC you can find here:

in order to use IRC, you need IRC client. Most popular one is mIRC(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MIRC). You can download it here:
http://www.mirc.com/get.html

and now, how to connect

when you open mIRC, click Continue. Altough it says 30 days, even after that you will still be able to open it, registration is not needed, its just making it faster

lets start configuring:



name: write whatever you want, its not important
email:, your email, it needs to be valid ofc

nick: your nickname that will be used when talking in channels, most important field here
alternative: if your nick is already taken, alternative one will be used

click on Servers then (in the menu on the left), and there you have Add




description: mmorpg4all irc server (for example)
IRC server: irc.mmorpg4all.com
Group: WoW (or whatever you want)

now press Options


they should look like this:


press Perform now

go to Add, and there select group (one you wrote in description. For me it is WoW)


enable perform on connect, and in perform commands write
/j #mmorpg4all
/j #sappedgirlscantsayno

now Perform should look like this:


press OK, and again OK



there, you have finished configuring your IRC client. Now press this yellow button in upper left corner to perform everything you have configured.

You need to click it only first time, after, when you open mIRC, it will automatically perform everything you have done

there you go. You can now start to use mIRC

btw, it dosen't need to be a vaild email.

Oh, and Jackk, there is a little Heart, 2 right to the Connect button, thats a tab called Favorits.
Open it, click add, write: #sappedgirlscantsayno, and click "join on connect " and then click OK
and the irc will open then channel by itself, much moar esay

When you got mirc, and you have joined the channel, would it be great if you registered your nick, it would make things a bit more esay.
#1 You can ghost ppl who try to use your anme, so they will be kicked from mirc, and then would you be able to change into your name :p
#2 If you are an ingame officer, could you forexample get something called AOP(@) witch make you be able to do more things on the channel.

You register by typing:

/ns register pass email
For examle like this: "/ns register sapped something@hotmail.com"

When thats done, go into the options where you started, click on " Options " under Connect, and click on peform.
Now write /ns login (the name you used when you registred) (pass)
For example: "/ns login Hawtie sapped"
And click OK when thats done.
Now does mirc automaticaly log you on, when you click on " Connect "
